White Out

As I write this morning there are snowflakes the size of Volkswagens falling just outside my window. It sure looks like winter again, but alas, this too shall pass...quickly. By the end of the day any hint of this occurrence will most likely have vanished as temperatures rise to near 40 once again. The snow will stop falling within a half an hour, and since I type very slowly it has already diminished in intensity quite remarkably. This wintry outburst is but a small blip on the weather screen for this week as we will continue to have warmer than normal temperatures and a little light rain from time to time. High temperatures should be in the low to mid 40s most of the week, and the lows in the 30s. That will carry us through the end of January, one more week to go, and the outlook for February calls for warmer than normal weather again. Oh well, at least this morning's snowfall will carry us over the one foot snowfall mark for the season. We have been sitting at .5 inches for the month, and 11.9 inches for the season since the beginning of the month.

  1. Looks as if this winters snow has fallen in the mountains of southern Idaho..foot upon foot in the ski areas as well as all the drainage's. Looks like there will be water for the boating season..
Maybe there's to much HOT air blowing in from the north..
