Empty Nesters...Again!

We just put the kid on a plane (see Birthday Girl post from a couple of days ago for pictures), and she is headed back to school in St. Paul, East Dakota. Right now she is probably over Bozeman heading east at 530 miles per hour. That leaves us, Kay and me, all alone again. It was great having her home for nearly a month, and she will be back again in less than 2 more, but it was time for Beth to wing her way back to school and get back to the work at hand.

Beth is leaving from the warm rain of the Pacific Northwest back to the winter weather of the Upper Midwest. Yesterday the temperature in Spokane reached 50 degrees, and today we should be in the mid 40s. St. Paul will top out at about 30 degrees today, which is actually quite mild for that location in the middle of January. More rain has moved into our area as we were sleeping, or trying to sleep, and the on and off wet weather will carry on for several more days to come. There are a few spots enduring some minor flooding, and mud is everywhere!
