Wacky World of Weather

As I arose this morning, and opened the back door to let the doggie out, I was amazed by how warm the air felt. Upon exiting the premises, and driving off toward the church, the car thermometer stabilized at 48 degrees. That was up on the South Hill. Descending Hatch Road into the Latah Valley resulted in a cooling of 11 degrees, down to 37. The thermometer is not malfunctioning, it is just that the valley is sheltered and the cool air, which is more dense than warm, seeped down in overnight while warmer air drifted in above it. All of that has now changed as the valley has warmed up into the 40s as well. A little rain is also falling, and this will be the order of the day. In fact, clouds and occasional sprinkles and light rain will continue to be the order of the week. I don't see any snowstorms looming out there, ready to pounce on us, anytime in the near future.
