The Birthday Girl

As promised, here are the pictures of yesterday's 19th birthday celebration for our "Sweet Babboo"...Beth. The party was at Tomato Street, a wonderful Italian restaurant on the north side of Spokane. You can see the birthday girl, her entree...Lazzoni, which a cross between lasagna and a calzone...and some of the artwork that Kay and I created on the paper table cloth. They encourage this type of behavior be providing a paper table cloth and a small can containing crayons. These were the only vegetables consumed during this culinary outing, apart from the salads which were adorned with dressing containing 1000s of calories and hundreds of grams of fat. Of course, none of it has stuck to any of us, since this was a birthday celebration and it would be unfair for fat and calories to spoil the party!
That was yesterday, and today life returned to some semblance of normal. I had a circuit pastor's meeting and a bunch of schoolwork to do today, along with another church meeting this evening. Kay had her quilting group to attend to and groceries that needed to be procured, while also planning and executing a Greek dinner of gyros and a couple of different salads. Beth did absolutely nothing! Actually she did play the piano for awhile, and take a bath. She also got a bunch of her stuff packed to head back to school. She leaves early Saturday morning. She will be departing from an almost tropical setting to return to the harsh winter reality that is Minnesota...or as people from Wisconsin call it...East Dakota.
