New Year's Day was a day for football games and playing games with family and friends. I can't believe how exhausting it is to sit on the couch watching football, around a table playing board games, and eating all day. Its enough to wear a fella out! Most of the teams that I was rooting for (Big Ten Conference teams) won today, and I represented fairly well in the games that we played, mostly Scattagories and Bananarama. For the second day in a row pizza was the main entree of the evening, which is a-okay with me. Papa Murphy's...yum!
Tomorrow morning starts with men's breakfast at church. We meet at 8:30 am for food, and then a Bible study. Come join us! As usual, I will be cooking grits. After that we might do a little bowling, if we can find a bowling alley that will allow us access. I don't have too much to get done at church tomorrow, as I am not the one responsible for leading the services this week, that would be pastor Young, my coach. I've had a nice break in the action this week after 4 sermons in 3 days last week. I'll be back in the saddle again next Sunday, and after a week of downtime I am refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to go...a not so lean, mean sermonating machine!
