Yesterday at this time it just stopped snowing, and we had a fresh 3 or 4 inches on the ground. Today it just won't stop raining (drizzling at times) and most of that snow is gone. The ground is beginning to emerge once again, and by late afternoon all that will be left of Monday night's snowfall will be the berms from the snow plow and the piles that where shoveled up along the edges of driveways. Temperatures have been holding in the upper 30s all night long, and will probably remain in a holding pattern all day. More rain is coming this afternoon into tonight, and it looks damp and dreary through the end of the week with little change in the temperatures. After a week and a half in the deep freeze we are into an extended thaw.
It is Wednesday, so I will be off soon to the tennis court for another humbling from my posse. After that it will be a day of working at the church culminating in our final Advent supper study of the Christmas season, and then choir practice.
