After a long day it was time to take advantage of a brisk but calm night. Winter is the best time for a dip in the hot tub, and it was a perfect winter night tonight. The day started with a cup of coffee and then a trip to the tennis court. Things went much better than last Friday. After that it was time to run a few errands, hit the books to study for my seminary class, visit one of our church members who is in a care facility, and finally help bake a bunch of Christmas cookies. Sounds like a full day to me! As is usually the case, dinner happened at about 9:00pm. It was well worth the wait though, Cornish hen marinaded in an orange-ginger mixture and then roasted to perfection, twice baked potatoes and a salad. It was topped off with a dessert of coffee flavored flan with whipped cream prepared and delivered by our neighbor Gooie. That's right...we have a neighbor named Gooie (pronounced Goo-ee), at least that is his nickname.
Did I mention that it is 3° Fahrenheit out there...oh yes, its in the title of this post. We will start the day Tuesday a bit below zero, and head to about 15. Cold weather will be with us through the rest of the week, but at least we will miss out on the blizzard that is going to hit the upper Midwest over the next 36 hours. We should see some snow this upcoming weekend.
