It is the morning of Christmas Eve. The weather is cold and quiet, with no snow on the ground. That is the way that it will stay, cold and quiet, with no snow on the ground this Christmas. That's okay, last year the Christmas Eve services at St. John's were snowed out as we were buried under about 3 feet of snow.
Speaking of Christmas Eve services, we will be having two tonight. At 6:00pm we will be celebrating a family service, with a Lessons and Carols format. That means that we will sing the favorite Christmas hymns, and here the Christmas story through a series of scripture readings. At 11:00pm wee will have a traditional candlelight service, again, with the favorite Christmas hymns. Both services will be completely different, so I invite you to come to both. To top things off we will be having a Christmas Day service tomorrow at 10:00am to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It is going to be a busy but exciting time as we gather to worship our newborn King.
For the remainder of the day I will be brushing up on the Christmas message that I will be giving tonight, along with finishing the preparation for our worship service on Sunday. Beth and Kay will be going to the mall to watch all of the last minute shoppers, mostly men, frantically fly around buying things that nobody would ever want. Call us sentimental...its kind of a Christmas tradition for us to enjoy!
Merry Christmas too all...and we'll see you tonight!
